CBCK’s Basketball Academy is dedicated to nurturing and developing God-given talents in young people through the sport of basketball. The program not only builds athletic skills but also instills discipline, teamwork, character, and a strong sense of purpose.
Through structured training and mentorship, student-athletes are prepared to pursue basketball scholarship opportunities, opening doors to higher education and a brighter future. Participation in a disciplined sports environment also equips them with essential life skills that support their transition into colleges and universities.
Currently, the program serves over 200 players, impacting their lives both on and off the court while guiding them toward excellence grounded in Christian values.
Arts Academy
The Arts academy enables children and the youth to express themselves using arts and to also inspire social change by passing information creatively with images and graphics. The Arts Academy also acts as a therapy for children and young people who need to recover from traumatic experiences. Through the Arts academy children and youth tap into their creative potential by developing artistic skills and insights. These skills may also provide a source of income through the sale of their artwork.
Music and Dance Academy
CBCK works with 500 youths every month to nurture their singing and dancing talents which may lead to additional income. The academy also serves as a co-curriculum activity for pupils and students in school.
Culinary Academy
The CBCK Culinary Academy is a hands-on training program designed to equip students with practical skills in pastry making, food preparation, and safe food handling. This initiative provides learners with first-hand experience and industry-relevant competencies that prepare them for employment opportunities after high school.
The program is especially impactful for students who may not have the opportunity to pursue college education, offering them a dignified pathway to self-reliance and economic empowerment. Through skill development and mentorship, the Culinary Academy helps students build confidence, discover their potential, and secure a brighter future.
Computer Academy
The CBCK Computer Academy is a practical training program designed to equip students with essential digital and computer skills for today’s world. Through hands-on learning, students gain first-hand experience in basic computer operations, digital literacy, and relevant technological skills that prepare them for employment opportunities after high school. This program is especially beneficial for students who may not have the opportunity to pursue college education, providing them with a meaningful pathway toward self-reliance and economic empowerment.
Graduates of the program are also empowered to start their own income-generating ventures, such as cyber cafés and other IT-based services that are often limited or unavailable in underserved communities like Kibera. In this way, the academy not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to community development by expanding access to essential digital services while nurturing purpose, dignity, and hope grounded in Christian values.
