The Launch of CBCK Counseling and Trauma Centre April 2025
October 3, 2025
The CBCK Counseling and Trauma Centre will be one of its kind in the slums of Kenya — a true beacon of hope born out of faith, prayer, dedication, and the tireless commitment of many hearts. This center stands as a beautiful partnership between Burke Community Church and CBCK, a living testimony that when God’s people come together with love and purpose, healing can begin to flow where pain once lived. Our community carries deep and painful wounds — wounds of poverty, violence, loss, brokenness, and trauma. These are not distant realities; they are part of our daily lives, woven into our homes, our stories, and our very hearts. Yet even in this brokenness, God’s light is shining through. Through the counseling services, we have begun to witness transformation — not just in individuals, but in families and the wider community. People who once came simply seeking help are now finding empowerment, discovering strength, hope, and resilience through the love and compassion extended to them. We have seen that when trauma is met with compassion, and when pain is brought before God, lives can truly be restored. For too long, children, men, and women have suffered in silence, with no one to turn to for understanding or guidance. Even our religious workers — those who dedicate their lives to caring for others — have often carried their burdens alone, with no one to listen or to walk beside them in their struggles. This Centre is, therefore, an answered prayer. It is a sacred space where healing will begin, where tears will be seen, where hearts will find comfort, and where the love of Christ will mend what has been broken. May this place stand as a testament to God’s faithfulness — a reminder that even in the heart of suffering, God is still writing a story of hope, redemption, and new beginnings.
